Acquisition International (AI) recently interviewed Bryan Brighton, Regional Director at Merrill DataSite, regarding his insight into post merger integration for their upcoming March 2015 publication.
During the interview, Bryan stressed that a successful integration between two entities is the result of not only thoughtful planning during the due diligence process, but also healthy communication and prompt attention to any newly acquired contracts.
Companies who promptly start to manage new contracts and contract renewals are more solidly able to ensure future revenue and their continuing profitability in the market. Failure to urgently address these pieces often leads to inefficiency and lost income. Bryan also emphasized that synergy and value are best achieved through the “practical implementation of innovative and best-in-class technology to help manage the contractual and commercial challenges post-merger integration inevitably brings.”
